E=early, M=midseason, L=late

Type :
D=deciduous;
foliage dies back completely in winter. These are the best
type for Northern gardeners. EV= Evergreen; some
foliage will remain in winter. These are the best type for
Southern gardeners. SE= semi-evergreen; intermediate
between dormant and evergreen.
Tetraploid: plant with twice
as many chromosomes as normal (diploid) daylilies, resulting
in intense flower colors, thicker stalks and petals, broader
foliage.
Rebloom: a variety which often
sends up additional bloom stalks after the first series
of flowers is complete; encouraged by removing seed pods
and providing extra moisture during the summer. (Rebloom
extends through September in our gardens)
Throat: the center portion
of a flower, which tapers into the stalk.
Eyezone: a distinctive colored
band, generally darker than the main flower color.
Ribs: a narrow raised stripe
running lengthwise through the center of each petal. |
